Plover Scar Lighthouse

Although not strictly part of the Point, this iconic lighthouse is associated with the village and stands proudly where the river running down from Lancaster begins to open out into the Irish Sea.

It is eye catching and features in many Sunderland Point photos.

Built in 1847 it was originally manned and powered by paraffin lamps, it is now fully automatic.
