Bird Hide

The new and spacious Bird Hide was opened on the West Shore in December 2019. Located with a clear view over the bay, it was paid for by the Lancashire Environment Fund to provide a base - open to all - for casual observation, as well as for education on birdlife and scientific research. Bird observations from this site are entered into an international data base accessible worldwide.

Please - We will be grateful to visitors who respect the good rules of protecting the birdlife, so keep a respectful distance, keep dogs on leads to prevent birds being spooked and positively no use of drones or powered model aircraft over the marshes.
