Flora and Fauna

Through the seasons the salt marshes see a succession of plants come into bloom such as the white flowers of scurvy grass in April and May, Sea Pinks (Thrift) in May & June and Purple Sea Lavender and Sea Aster in July & August

The silt and mud flats of the estuary are home to pioneering species of edible samphire and spartina.

On the beaches well rooted into the sand and shingle can be found White Sea Campion, Sea Holly, Strawberry Clover, Horned Poppy, and the varied colours of the Birds Foot Trefoil.
